Job description
Our Maintenance Shop is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm. In the role, you will perform a wide variety of industrial mechanical tasks including equipment installation and repairs while following prescribed safety rules and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Assist/perform Corrective and Preventative Maintenance duties and troubleshooting, and repairs of minor and major breakdowns.
- Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, drill press, and other industrial repair equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment (i.e., mechanical systems, pneumatics, plumbing, steam, and hydraulics).
- Properly set up machinery and equipment.
- Operate boilers in the absence of operators, and have knowledge of standard tests for boiler chemicals.
Minimum Requirements/Abilities
- Must furnish own basic set of tools and know how to properly operate and maintain tools to keep them in safe working order at all times.
- Thorough knowledge of tools, bench machines, machinery, and related equipment.
- Ability to assemble and align gears, gearboxes, bearings, motors, and shafts.
- Ability to interpret and apply shop mathematics, with the use of complicated drawings, blueprints, specifications, charts, and tables.
- Ability to follow written/verbal instructions, read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures.
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, or elevated platforms – indoors and outdoors – and be able to work in confined spaces.
- Lifting up to 75lbs
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Education/Experience
- Requires a high school diploma / GED.
- Manufacturing experience; mechanical and industrial skills.
- Experience in textile, paper, or other web-processing manufacturing environments is preferred.
