Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees personnel in charge of maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding various production machines and equipment. Supervises the maintenance and repair of all equipment and a variety of other machines. Oversees the setup and use of tools and equipment before production use in order to ensure the optimum level of safety.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
- Coordinates and validates the work of the maintenance personnel.
- Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
- Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
- Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Suggests improvements to process.
- Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a maintenance team.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
- Thorough knowledge of Maintenance programs and tools
- Ability to multi-task
- Microsoft Office tools
Suggested Salary: $65k – $80k
