Job description
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing work teams in a fast paced, high volume, unionized, manufacturing environment. In the role, you will be responsible for ensuring team safety; building teams and training / allocating manpower; implementing continuous improvement solutions to improve product quality; and ensuring team morale.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor the daily shift work for all machines and their operators
- Monitor all readings/systems to ensure compliance of permit limits
- Perform all required testing and check on all fabrics
- Oversee mixing operation to ensure coatings are prepared properly
- Ensure a safe workplace, by leading the Team to improve safety in the area and enforce safety guidelines and procedures
- Interact with Department Head on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiency
- Collaborate with supervisors of other department to ensure to effective communication
- Interface with Supervisors of other shifts to ensure smooth continuous production
- Resolve any problems that may occur with operators or machines during the shift
- Strictly adhere to and enforce Company policies and plant rules
- Review, maintain and file records of daily overtime sheets, production reports, coating/finishing cards, static pressure readings report, boiler and oxidizer report, consumption report, daily attendance sheet and employee records
Education/Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience supervising in a manufacturing setting
- Previous experience working in a union environment
